Staff Recommendation: For Home Videos, Pick the Sony HDR-XR520V

Yesterday, a young man came in the store, looking for a camcorder. He said he wanted to get the best camcorder, never mind the price. Okay… I had to ask him what movie is he going to produce and he said “No movie. Just videos of my kids.” I didn’t really understand why he needed the best camera if he’s just looking to shoot home videos. You see, our most expensive camcorders cost thousands of dollars. I knew he didn’t care, but I also knew he didn’t really need an expensive camcorder. So I asked him if he was going to use DV tapes. He didn’t even know what they were.So I showed him the Sony HDR-XR520V which is a lovely 240GB HD Handycam - a real cutie that shoots full HD videos on its huge hard disk drive. It’s got a stunning low-light sensitivity with improved image clarity and drastically reduced grain, perfect for parties and school productions.

There’s a face detection mechanism and a smile shutter technology and I really love selling this camera because it makes people happy. It’s not the cheapest one we’ve got, it’s not the most expensive one either, but I really believe that this is the camera he needed.

You know I could’ve pushed the best camera I had, but it's not the way we work here at 1 Stop Camera.

Infinite Possibilities and Reasonable Price. I just love my Canon EOS Rebel XSi

I just love my Canon EOS Rebel XSI. It’s as simple as that. You see, I’m not a professional photographer or anything; I was just looking for something better than my old point-and-shoot.

I mainly take pics of my kids and family, nothing too complicated. But I always loved my old SLR and although I don’t miss film, I did miss the feeling of a solid camera, and a few basic features like the blurry background effect, which you can't really get in a pocket camera. I knew I wanted something better, but I didn’t really know what.

I came across 1 Stop Camera in Brooklyn and said to myself, what the heck, I’ll give it a try. So I stepped in the store and a helpful young man asked me about the pictures I take and my budget, which was, by the way, something around 700 dollars. He told me that 700 dollars is too much and showed me the amazing Rebel XSi which costs only 500 dollars and I fell in love immediately. Who would’ve thought I could get a pro DSLR for 500 bucks?

I’ll recommend the Canon Rebel XSi for any enthusiastic photographer and I’ll blindly recommend 1 Stop Camera for anybody who needs a word of advice and unbeatable prices on all photography equipment and electronics.

Buying online Vs. buying in a store. How about both?

If you want the best prices on electronics, you probably need to look online. The greatest deals are on the internet and you can hardly find cheaper goods at a store near you.

And this is pretty reasonable. When you buy something in a store, you don’t just pay for the product – you pay for the store’s rent, bills, and employees. When you buy online, the only extra cost will be shipping, and most of the time shipping is free.

So why people still buy electronics in stores? Mostly because of the need to see, feel and try the product they intend to purchase and sometimes, we all need a word of advice from a professional.

So what is the bottom line in the buying online vs. buying in store question? Well, the best advice we can give you is to do both. No, really, do both. How? Do your window shopping outside and make the purchase online. Or just find an electronic dealer who is both, like 1StopCamera, that has website with the best prices available and also a brick and mortar store where you can get all your questions answered.

You can’t really find better prices on electronics anywhere else and you definitely can’t find a friendlier staff than 1 Stop Camera’s. So go ahead, visit us online or come down to our Brooklyn electronics store and get what you always wanted, at the prices you always wanted.

Would you believe that I found a cheap Nikon DSLR under 500 dollars?!

You know, I always wanted to upgrade my point and shoot camera to something more professional. I’ve been dreaming about a DSLR for a long time, but the price… I didn’t want to pay a 1000 dollars for a camera. So I’ve been searching deals and discounts and sales online and offline and at the big retailers and at smaller ones, but I just couldn’t find a cheap and reliable DSLR that can give me shooting power without me having to shot myself because of the price tag.

Then I came across the 1 Stop Camera website and found a cheap Nikon Digital SLR for under 500 bucks! Really, a Nikon DSLR camera for under 500 dollars. I didn’t believe it at first. A 10.2 Megapixel-professional-user-friendly DSLR with this crazy price tag. I was so worried that I had to see it for myself. You can’t really trust any online dealer these days and I didn’t want to become a victim of a scam.

Luckily, 1 Stop Camera has a real store in a convenient Brooklyn location. I went over there to check the camera and I was so happy to find a reliable Brooklyn electronics dealer with experienced and knowledgeable staff. They answered all my questions and indeed, the discount Nikon D60 is everything I needed in a camera, under 500 dollars.

You can see for yourselves if you visit the website, or even get the feel of this wonderful camera if you visit the store. You can’t really find a better price anywhere else and you definitely can’t find a friendlier staff than 1 Stop Camera’s.
