In that case, you could consider something like a plasma TV because it is without a doubt going to have a better picture quality, functional usage, video playback, and the price and value are going to reign over an LCD. Frankly, as far as HD goes - if you do decide to go HD it might be a good idea to actually see a TV with and without HD!
