It doesn't matter if you are shopping for a compact or digital camera at a discount camera store or a television at an electronic shop, there are specific things you should know before buying anything! It's important to stay educated and sharp so you can buy the right product the first time and be happy with your purchase! So what should you be considering when it comes to buying a DVD player? Besides the initial price you should consider four of the facets listed below:

• Configurations: Do you want one disc or three disc? Does it matter if it has a CD, DVD, CRW reader for ALL your discs? Can it play the new Blu-Ray format?
  
• Picture quality: Does the DVD player actually let you have a better picture? Do you want options like zoom and freeze?
• Audio: Does the DVD player have Dolby, Mono or Tuner options? Can you use surround sound and sub-woofers with it?
• Feel: How does it feel to you? Is it slow to load? Does pressing the play button several times annoy you? In that case, you will want a speedy processor that can quickly understand what you want it to do.

Ultimately, a DVD player, like many other electronic components is a computer like a laptop or PC. Some of these processors are going to be slow and some are going to be quicker.
